There is nothing better than discovering an island on foot. Where the car can not come, the pearls can be found. To fully enjoy the landscape and taste the atmosphere of nature but also the villages, you have to stand still for a moment, look around and be jiggered by what you encounter on your path.

Walking on Crete:

Crete the largest Greek island. Together with a guide you can travel inland far from mass tourism. Discover the island of contrasts: A beautiful rugged green nature with savage mountains, ancient cypresses, chestnut trees, olive groves and vineyards, orange trees, not to mention the clear blue sea and the idyllic bays on the south coast. We go to eat and drink at nice and hidden addresses and visit the small producer himself.

Nature of the walks:

Crete offers an infinite number of hiking trails. We have a big choice regarding the level of difficulty. A nice walking program can be made that meets your wishes.

Walking on the Cyclades Islands:

There are some real pearls in the Aegean Sea that one should visit. There are many hiking opportunities on the Cyclades. Many old paths are still maintained. Each island has his own character and history, beautiful villages, coastlines and idyllic beaches. From the highest peak Za on Naxos you can see and map the the surrounding Cyclades Islands.

Which islands to choose:

There are numerous of islands, each with his own charm.  The art is to combine islands that are well connected by ferries, not to remote from each other and at the mean time surprisingly different from each other, offering you an amazing journey with a large spectrum of sceneries.

These are examples. Various combinations are possible.

  • Sifnos – Milos – Kimolos -Folegandros or Sikinos- Santorini
  • Naxos- Small Cyclades- Amorgos.
  • Naxos – Amorgos – Santorini
  • Andros- Tinos – Syros.

General information:

The difficulty of the walks is always indicated and there are walks for each level. Given the adventurous nature of the holiday, a reasonable physical condition is required. The participant is responsible for his or her state of health and takes part at his or her own risk.

level 1: one shoe, max 300 m difference of level, 1.5 – 3 hours of walking.
level 2: two shoes, max 700 m difference of level, 3 – 4.5 hours of walking.
level 3: two shoes +, max 1000 m difference of level, 5 – 6 hours of walking.

The local weather conditions can result in a day being adjusted. The best alternative is always chosen instead.

Desired material: Good walking shoes, walking sticks, backpack 20l, cap, rain jacket, sunglasses, shorts and long trousers, pocket knife, plasters, sunscreen cream, swimwear, slippers.
